HEALTH EDUCATION AND PROMOTION DEPARTMENT

At the end of the progamme, the students should be able to: carry out Health Education and Promotion at all levels of health care in Nigeria, support in the development of plans and Implementation of effective delivery of Health Education and Promotion services in health-related agencies, institutions and organizations, disseminate accurate health information to the society to ameliorate disease burden, conduct Health Education and Promotion intervention programmes on prevailing health problems in the community, engage other health workers and community members to carry out health needs assessment, collaborate with relevant health workers to conduct health risk assessment during outbreaks. More so, to engage stakeholders in the promotion of activities that brings changes in behaviors and attitudes toward positive health practices, assist in the surveillance, investigation and reporting of disease outbreaks in the community, support in the delivery of Primary Health Care (PHC) Services, carry out health advocacy prgrammes to promote positive health practices in the community and to support in the planning and execution of social mobilization activities to promote acceptance and utilization of Routine Immunization (RI) and Supplemental Immunization Activities (SIA) among others.
